Spoken: It’s always the G string…
Singing:
The time has come to say goodbye,
Drank a lot but the well run dry
Dirty fingers dirty…..
Spoken: Ah let’s see, Bob Bennett and I , we uh, let’s see I first met Bob Bennett in August of 1997, so yeah it’ll be 13 years this August for sure. Ya I mean I’ve always felt I’ve been a very compassionate person, but when you do this kind of work ya know obviously you meet people on the street that just say ‘Oh it takes a strong person’ ya know I always appreciate that , that’s true, but to me, I Don Prentice (Housing Director)’t feel that way, to me it’s just what I do. Been doing this work for so long, it’s what I ‘m meant to do.
Singing:
Monkey see, monkey do
Felt like a big baboon
Whatcha gonna do for me?
Spoken: These folks here are my family, I mean I uh, I’ve almost been at this house longer than I have lived with my parents…
Singing: Sinkin’ in the quicksand, I threw a branch but not my hand.
Spoken: Arts of OSLP, this will be the 3rd annual Arts of OSLP, and what we do is we just try to take local musicians from OSLP, local artists, whether it be painters, potters, jewelers, I mean everything and we have a benefit show every other year to raise money for our folks in the agency, to go on vacations, to go on trips, maybe see family…Actually it will be at Cozmic Pizza which is right downtown Eugene on Friday April 9th. I believe it starts around 4pm and goes t’ill about 10pm. There will be 5 bands, and it is 5 dollars to get in; so 5 bands for 5 bucks that is fantastic, I think it’s a great thing. There’s gonna be a silent auction, all the art is going to be Don Prentice (Housing Director)ated and we’ll be able to auction it all off.
Singing:
What you gonna do for me?
I got an idea, let me be.
Fast sinking in the quicksand, I threw, threw a branch
Not my hand.
