Kim feels fortunate that she found her career early in life. At the age of 18 she chose to move from her home in Ohio to attend Clarion University in Pennsylvania to pursue a Special Education Teaching degree and then pursued a graduate degree at Penn State University. She found the heart of her work at that same time when she worked with men and women who had just moved out of institutional care to be assisted in living in the community. After working in a variety of settings in Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Virginia, Kim moved to Oregon in 1989 and began her work at OSLP as a Direct Support Professional. She became the Director of the Community Inclusion and Employment Program when it was developed in 1990. Her work continues to be a great joy and source of inspiration in her life for which she is most grateful. Kim loves and enjoys her family, friends, and traveling.
